Amos N' Andy DVD Collection

I just watched Amos n' Andy starring Alvin Childress as Amos, Tim Moore as George "Kingfish" Stevens and Spencer Williams as Andrew "Andy" Hogg Brown. I watched this amazing dvd collection from www.theclassictheater.com/amos.html, the picture quality was excellent. I honestly have to say it wasn't what I expected. I'm not one for old movies or TV shows let alone black and white ones. Amos n' Andy kept me watching and kept me laughing. I was hanging on to each joke wondering what funny thing was going to come out of anyone's mouth next especially "Kingfish". My favorite character to watch from the show would actually have to be "Kingfish". I love the way he speaks and his face has all the expressions that go with his mood perfectly. I noticed in the show how the have black people living in wealthy society which makes the show that much better especially considering the period in time which the show was made. It shows everyone as equals and I bet some people back then didn't like that too much, but that's what made the show enjoyable to all different kinds of people. My favorite episode was the one called "The Godfather". I thought it was really funny how the little kid thought he could just get anything he wanted for his birthday and he kept making Andy look like a fool and making Andy's goddaughter cry, but then it turned around when Andy handed the little boy the telegram exposing when his real birth date was and the boy ended up waiting on Andy hand and foot and falling for his goddaughter. Another episode I enjoyed was called "Insurance Policy". I loved this one because it was perfect at showing the expressions of "Kingfish". He pretended he was too ill to buy an Insurance Policy from his friend Andy by switching the doctors words around  when he really just needed to loose a few pounds. He didn't want to work either so he tricked everyone and of course in the end he was exposed. All of the pretending and facial expressions while pretending to be sick made me laugh the whole time. All in all it's a great cast and it wouldn't be what it is without the people who play each character. I think I'm going to start looking into "Three Stooges" and/or "Abbot and Costello". If they are even half as funny I'm going to enjoy them as well.

Abbott and Costello DVD Collection

My dad watches those black and white movies on television on that channel that young adults like myself don't pay any attention to. One day I found myself watching Abbott and Costello starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. To my surprise I actually ended up enjoying and laughing along with him. I remember seeing this skit called "Who's on First" which is available at www.theclassictheater.com/abbott.html along with many other episodes of Abbott and Costello. The picture quality was amazing. Believe me when I tell you that these two men are extremely funny and the skit "Who's on First?" blew my mind! It was so well put together and I don't think any other two actors could of done it better. The combination of Abbott being a little slow and Costello being smarter came together perfect in this skit. The skit starts off with Abbot asking Costello "Who is on first?". Costello responds with "Yes". Now keep in mind the guy on first base is named Who! and then Costello says "Who is on first!" Abbot then says, "That's what I'm trying to figure out!". You can just about imagine what it goes on like when I tell you that the guy on second base's name is "What" and the guy on third base's name is "I Don't Know". You really just have to watch this one for yourself. It's a small but very clever skit located in the episodes called "The Naughty Nineties" (also very funny). Now when I see my dad watching that old TV show channel I can't help but to sit back and laugh with him. I've seen some other really funny shows on that channel as well such as "The Little Rascals" and "The Three Stooges" and you can also find collections of these classic TV shows at www.theclassictheater.com under the comedy section. I would seriously consider inviting my friends over and just having some food and snacks and have a Comedy Classic TV show marathon party because I know they would laugh their heads off.

Tha Addams Family DVD Collection

A great collection to own is "The Addams Family" which you can find at www.theclassictheater.com/addams.html. I watched some of this collection the other night and I loved it.The quality of the dvd's were spectacular for how old the show is. The Addams Family acts like just a regular family eating dinner together, taking care of the children, cleaning, doing regular family things with a little bit of a weird Transylvanian kinda creepy gothic twist on things. They are a very odd family in most ways and they are completely unaware of their strangeness! The shows all start off with that catchy tune with the snaps of the fingers which alone makes you want to stop and watch the tv show. The family consists of the mother Morticia Addams played by Carolyn Jones who is a  beautiful gothic woman with long black hair , the father Gomez Addams played by John Astin who has dark hair and a mustache and is always dressed in a nice black suit, their son Pugsley Addams played by Ken Weatherwax who is chubby and very strange, their daughter Wednesday Addams played by Lisa Loring who has long black hair that's always tied into pig tail braids,  Grandmama Addams played by Marie Blake who has this crazy gray hair all over the place, Lurch the Butler played by Ted Cassidy who is tall and almost looks like frankestein,Uncle Fester Frump played by Jackie Coogan who is probably the strangest of all with his big body and jacket that goes all the way to the top of his neck and his bald head and dark circles around his eyes, and last of all Cousin Itt who is played by Felix Silla who is just this short person covered in just all hair and you can't see anything but long droopy hair .There is also this weird hand that pops out of random places during the shows and they call this hand "Thing" and it's kind of like their pet.The love and on screen chemistry Morticia and Gomez has for eachother is so passionate and although they are a little strange they love eachother more then anything. Gomez is always kissing up Morticia's arm as his signature move. And when she speaks in french he goes crazy! Uncle Fester has this ability to light lights by putting the end of the bulb in his mouth which is insane and he does this is in many episodes. Wednesday, a little girl, likes things like bugs and creepy dolls. Grandmama Addams is always carrying on about anything and everything in a crazy manner. We all have that crazy relative that's like that and complains about everything. Lurch the Butler loves to play the piano and you can catch him doing that instead of making dinner for the family. The basic idea of the show is Morticia and Gomez always trying to do something with the family or help someone in the family or people in their neighborhood, but always having fun in this odd way. I love this collection because it's very funny in such a weird unique way. It's great for the whole family to sit down and watch together. It is a genuinely funny classic tv show. The perfect way to describe this family is just like any other, but they are extremely gothic in a comedic and loving way. The family would do anything for eachother as shown in each episode. That's more then alot of what we call normal families can say. All and all it's a great show for familes and even children even though it's dark and gothic it's makes you laugh and shows some valuable lessons about family that children can pick up on.

The Little Rascals DVD Collection

I just finished watching one of the Little Rascals dvd's from www.theclassictheater.com/rascals.html  from the "Little Rascals" gold collection. It made me feel like I was a kid again watching Spanky and Alfalfa and all the Litte Rascals doing things as best friends and getting into trouble while laughing and having fun.The picture quality was very clear and excellent which made it more enjoyable to watch. The humor is wonderful for every age! Every child in each episode always does something to make a grown up get angry and they get into alot of trouble. I love hearing Alfalfa (Carl Switzer) sing in his out of tune voice and always trying to romance Darla. Spanky (George McFarland) is always coming up with some clever scheme to make money and have fun but always getting into trouble.Buckwheat (Willie Mae Taylor) is always getting told to do these random tasks that he meses up somehow. Of course the little kids come in counter with the Bullies in a few epsidoes who's names are Wally (Wally Albright) and Spud (Sherwood Bailey) who always try yet fail to ruin anything the Little Rascals are doing for fun and then they end up looking stupid in such a hilarious way. Some of the other rascals names are Uh-huh (John Collum) who always is sayinng Uh-huh at those "just the right moments" to make you laugh,Pete the dog who is played by Pete the dog who is always following the children and being used somehow for the shows they put on or whatever else,Wheezer (Bobby Hutchins), and many more throughout the years changed. Although some of the characters changed "The Little Rascals" have always been one of my favorites and always still kept me laughing no matter what. The children are all just so wonderful and are great to watch and they are just great at making me laugh. I would have to say of all the old shows I've seen such as "Abbot and Costello","The Three Stooges", and "Amos n' Andy" which you can also find at www.theclassictheater.com "The Little Rascals" are hands down my favorite. I can watch the episodes over and over again and still laugh as much as I did the first time. I can watch them with my little sister who can relate to them because she is their age or with my father who loves them because he watched them when he was younger. So they are great for every age and that's what's so good about them. If I were to recommend any old tv show classic, "The Little Rascals" would be the first I would recommend. My favorite thing about each episode is just every look on the children's faces especially when they get into trouble because that makes me laugh the most. It's truly an incredible collection and such a great collection to own.

Tarzan DVD Collectioin

Tarzan is such a great collection for anyone to own and you can find it at www.theclassictheater.com/tarzan.html Tarzan was the man every man wanted to be and the man every woman fantisized about. Starring John Weissmuller as Tarzan, Ape man and King of the Jungle and Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane, Tarzan's love interest who is so beautiful and exotic. Other characters include Harry Holt played by Neil Hamilton,Martin Arlington played by Paul Cavanagh,Beamish played by Forrester Harvey, and Saidi played by Nathan Curry. Tarzan is perfect to watch with anyone even your significant other. It's filled with the perfect amount of action mixed with just the right amount of love and romance between Tarzan and Jane. They are a beautiful on screen couple and the chemistry between them is amazing. The story is about a group of men who have come from England to Africa to take ivory from the hidden elephant graveyard which they must try to find on their trip. During their trip to Jane falls in love with Tarzan and decides to stay in the jungle and live with him and the animals not caring about all the dangerous animals of the jungle. Africa never looked more romantic and dangerous then in this movie collection. Their is so much action that takes place in the jungle scenes with Tarzan and Jane. Tarzan fights a rhino and a 14 foot alligator and is always protecting Jane in these powerful scenes or protecting the innocent animals of the jungle. There is one amazing scene that will be remembered for quite some time of Jane swimming nude with Tarzan and this was a huge deal for the 1930's which was when Tarzan came out. There were three different versions shot of this scene for states to chose what they wanted the people to see. All three were eventually taken out due to religious protests from religious groups at that time. This movie was such a sexy movie for it's time which made it memorable and excellent. When I was watching this movie I was taken back by the picture quality because the show is so old. I would recommend Tarzan to anyone. The movie keeps you on your toes wondering what's gonna happen between Tarzan and Jane next or what animal is Tarzan going to fight. You wonder what Jane is going to act like when her father and the rest of the people she knows comes back to try once again to find the elephant graveyard and convince Jane to come home. Will Jane return back home with her old love? and will she miss all of the luxuries she had? Will she fall for the Slimy Martin Arlington who likes to be with woman who are married? Will Tarzan return with her? Will he lead the men to the elephant graveyard because he has fallen for Jane and wants to make her happy? Your always wondering what's gonna happen next. If you want to find out for yourself buy the collection! You will truely enjoy it just as I have.

The Three Stooges dvd Collection

The Three Stooges is probably the best and most funny collection to own. I watched The Three Stooges collection which can be ordered from www.classictheater.com/stooges.html The picture quality is excellent so you can see the Stooges in the finest form. The Three Stooges who's names are Larry (Larry Fine), Moe (Moe Howard), and Curly (Curley Howard) and through out the years Curly's character was replaced 3 times by first Shemp Howard, then Joe Bessrer, and last Joe DeRita. The way they are friends, but are always slapping and hurting eachother in really strange and funny situations is hysterical. I started off watching Woman Haters which was a hilarious skit and it's the first one in the collection. It starts off at one of the meetings of the Woman Haters club and their basic idea is "Romance is a crime!" and they want nothing to do with the opposite sex. There is something unique and crazy about this skit and that is that it's done in rhyme! It makes it that much more funny. After the stooges join this woman haters club Larry promises a beautiful girl Mary (Marjorie White) that he will marry her. He is not so sure after he meets her father and he tells the story of the other men who tried to leave her. The Three Stooges cannot seem to resist Mary's charm or can they? Watch this hilarious skit that's done in rhyme to find out what happens! The next skit and the most hilarious one I've seen is called "Three Litte Beers". In this skit the Three Stooges are hired to deliver beer for beer company that's having trouble getting the deliveries done in time. Coinincidently it's also the beer company's annual golf tournament and that's the first stop they make. The lowest prize for the tournament is a keg of beer and guess who wants to win it? Yup the Three Stooges! You can imagine how well they fit in with everyone else at the golf club after they steal some clothes to play. By the time they are done golfing they have ruined to entire course in the funniest ways I have ever seen. I don't want to ruin the whole skit by saying what kind of things they do, but trust me when I tell you this skit is a must watch! Putting the Three Stooges together on a golf course is pure genius and it works perfectly. I think the way this turned out so great was the stooges being all seperate on the course and they still end up causing havoc and wrecking the entire place in each their own funny way. You just have to watch them in action to see for yourself.
